Knowing that we had to remain in the USA to continue working and raising monies to fund our project, Ginny and I found we were in need of someone who could build our American style home while keeping us from running afoul of all the Costa Rican construction regulations. This person would also need to be honest, trustworthy and fluent in English and Spanish so he could communicate with us effectively as he watched over and manage our projects.

One of the men who helped us find Casa Vista introduced Ginny and me to his pastor Jorge. Jorge has been in ministry in Costa Rica for thirty-three years and is the head pastor of the La Carpa church in Grecia. In those thirty-three years Jorge has raised up and trained enough pastors to start forty-two churches. These churches are spread throughout Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama and Peru.

His wife Anita was raised in the Mennonite church as was I, so we have a very familiar history. With our common interests and backgrounds, it was easy to see Jorge and Anita were a perfect choice as our Casa Vista Project managers.

So much has transpired since we first met Anita and Jorge. They have done a fantastic job building our first home. Jorge surpassed our hopes and dreams. He took over our project mid stream (the road was already cut wrong through the property) and built us a beautiful home with exquisite finishing touches that went beyond our plans, while saving us a lot of money. He also finished the road in concrete at a fraction of the $80,000 quote to pave it.
